Jackson Auto Repair Policies

Pre-Payments, Storage and Title Fees and Bad Check Policy

All costs for parts, repairs and services are due immediately upon the completion of work or delivery of parts. Jackson Auto Repair does not have a payment plan or arrange financing.

Jackson Auto Repair requires payment in advance for the following parts orders:

  1. parts that are non-returnable or non-refundable purchases from the parts vendor
  2. parts requiring special shipping methods
  3. parts that have a significant core/exchange charge attached
  4. parts exceeding $500.00

There are no refunds on restock fees and return shipping fees charged by vendors. Jackson Auto Repair requires an advanced payment of ½ the invoice total before starting repairs and/or services exceeding $1000.00.

Storage fees will be added to invoices beginning the seventh (7th) day following the date Jackson Auto Repair completes authorized work or customer declines repairs. Storage fees will be added at $30.00 per day (these are calendar days not business days) for up to sixty (60) days. After sixty (60) calendar days, Jackson Auto Repair will begin the process to acquire the title in lieu of payment or to placing a mechanic’s lien against the title. Once these processes have begun, the full amount of processing fees for title acquirement or mechanic’s lien will be added to the invoice balance.

Worthless (insufficient funds, stop payment) checks will be charged a returned check fee of $30.00 plus any bank charges. If the original amount of the check plus the returned check fees are not paid within ten (10) days of notifying the check writer, Jackson Auto Repair will pursue remedies as allowed by law including title acquisition, the placement of a mechanic’s lien and filing of criminal charges for theft of services**. The fees for these efforts will be added to the invoice balance. Reversal of Charges on Credit Card payments will also be treated as Theft of Services and prosecuted accordingly.

Jackson Auto Repair may help you in processing a claim with your extended warranty or service contract administrators. Jackson Auto Repair is not required to file claims on your behalf. In no way does Jackson Auto Repair make contract with or transfer responsibility of payment to the contract administrator, the contract issuer, or the contract seller. A fee may be charged for processing claims through contract administrators on your behalf. Payment for parts, repairs and services and other invoice charges remains the responsibility of the vehicle owner. Prices for parts, repairs or service are established by Jackson Auto Repair. Service/Warranty plans may not cover the full cost parts, repairs, and other charges. Any difference between the invoice amount and the amount paid by the plan coverage is the vehicle owner’s responsibility and is due immediately upon completion of repairs or service.

** Per Tennessee Code § 39-14-104 Theft of Services, § 39-14-105 Grading of Theft and § 39-14- 121 Worthless checks, Jackson Auto Repair may pursue criminal prosecution, including felony charges, for fraudulent payment or writing of worthless checks.
